MINI LAB PILOT CAMP SUMMARY REPORT
Partner University: Aura College
Duration: October 20-21, 2025
Host Company: Eiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd.
Eiwa Team Members: Izzy, Ian, and Criscelle
The two-day Mini Lab Pilot Camp with Aura College, in collaboration with Eiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd., providedparticipating students with a hands-on learning experience that connected academic knowledge with real-world industrial practice. The camp focused on video production and digital communication tasks aimed at promoting the company’s brand, values, and work culture. Team Eiwa, composed of students Izzy, Ian, and Criscelle, were assigned two primary tasks:
1. Create an introduction video about Eiwa Kogyo.
2. Produce an SNS (social media) video promoting Eiwa Kogyo.
These activities were designed to enhance students’ creativity, technical skills, teamwork, and understanding of corporate branding in a Japanese industrial context.
Day 1: Orientation and Initial Task
The first day began with an introduction session where students from Aura College introduced themselves and shared brief insights about their background and interests. This was followed by an engaging discussion with Mr. Imuta, a representative from Eiwa Co., Ltd., who explained the company’s background, operations, and expectations for the project. After the orientation, Team Eiwa was tasked to begin their initial video project — an introduction video about Eiwa Kogyo. They brainstormed ideas, discussed creative directions, and began filming and editing short clips that reflected the company’s identity.
In the afternoon, the team presented their initial video output to Mr. Imuta and received constructive feedback. He provided valuable insights into how the video could better represent Eiwa’s precision, craftsmanship, and corporate values.
To close the first day, the group engaged in a free talk session focusing on Japanese culture. This discussion allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of the work ethics, discipline, and cultural nuances that shape Japanese companies. It also fostered a meaningful cultural exchange between students and the company representative.
Day 2: Factory Tour and Final Presentation
The second day continued with the team refining and finalizing their video projects based on the feedback provided. They demonstrated excellent collaboration and time management, ensuring that their final product was polished and professional. One of the highlights of the camp was the live factory tour led by Mr. Tamang Dirip and Shimada-san
of Eiwa Kogyo. The students had the rare opportunity to witness firsthand the manufacturing process and the advanced technologies used in the production of precision parts. This experience helped them better visualize the company’s operations and inspired them to integrate authentic scenes and details into their video content. By the end of the day, Team Eiwa conducted their final pitch presentation, showcasing the completed introduction and SNS videos. The presentation effectively captured the company’s spirit of innovation, teamwork, and commitment to quality. Feedback from Eiwa Kogyo Mr. Imuta expressed his deep appreciation and admiration for the team’s work. He was impressed by the high-quality videos produced within a short period, highlighting the students’ creativity, professionalism, and adaptability. He also mentioned that if the students are ever interested in working with Japanese companies in the future, Eiwa Kogyo would be glad to welcome them for an internship opportunity. This acknowledgment reflected the company’s satisfaction and its openness to fostering cross-cultural collaboration and youth development.
Conclusion
The two-day Mini Lab Pilot Camp proved to be a meaningful and productive experience for Team Eiwa. The students not only developed their technical and creative skills but also gained valuable exposure to the operations and culture of a Japanese manufacturing company. The collaboration between Aura College and Eiwa Kogyo Co., Ltd. successfully fulfilled the camp’s objective—to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application while promoting cultural understanding and professional growth. Overall, the camp was a testament to the potential of young talents like Izzy, Ian, and Criscelle, and a promising example of international industry-academic collaboration.
EIWA KOGYO STUDENT’S FEEDBACK
FROM: MR. ADRIAN MABBORANG The first day was quite challenging, especially when we had to talk with Mr. Imuta. However, by the second day, we became more comfortable with him. Many thanks to Ma’am Cassandra for always guiding us whenever we had questions for Mr. Imuta, and to the other staff members who prepared the icebreaker activities — they really helped ease our nervousness and made us feel more comfortable with the client. We are also very grateful to Mr. Suzuki for giving us this training opportunity. It was a big help in preparing us for our future careers. And to Mr. Imuta, thank you for being so kind and approachable — we truly appreciated how well you interacted with us. I’m genuinely grateful to have been part of this event. I also really liked the office environment — everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Until next time — Arigato Gozaimasu!
FROM: MS. JAZMIN IZZY MARQUEZ
I really enjoyed the camp training, although I initially felt nervous and pressured since it was my first time joining an event like this. However, as I spent more time in the office, I gradually became more comfortable. The staff, especially our supervisor Ma’am Cassandra, were very accommodating and kind, which really helped me feel at ease. Overall, I don’t regret joining this event — it was a wonderful experience that also opened up new
opportunities for me. As for the OJT opportunity, I’m still undecided for now, but if Criscelle decides to join, I’ll probably go with her.
FROM: MS. CRISCELLE TYLER
I truly enjoyed my time working with everyone. Although the camp was short, it was an incredibly amazing experience — I had so much fun working and meeting new people. The workplace was both welcoming and challenging, and I learned a lot about how the machines work, how the processes are done, and how each product is made. It was truly fascinating.
Throughout the camp, I also gained valuable lessons about effective teamwork, the importance of attention to detail, and professional communication. My favorite part was experiencing the company’s culture — a blend of respect, efficiency, and strong work ethic — which left a very positive impression on me. It allowed me to understand the fundamentals of professional conduct within a Japanese business setting. I was especially impressed by the team’s dedication to precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This gave me a clear and inspiring view of the company’s work culture. I think there’s a strong possibility that I might take the opportunity to do my OJT there again. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for this wonderful opportunity, and a special thanks to Ma’am Cassandra for guiding and supporting us throughout the two-day camp. She truly played a big part in making this experience meaningful. Of course, I would also like to extend my deepest thanks to the kind Mr. Imuta and Mr. Suzuki for making this experience possible. I’ve learned so much from them — not only about their professional workflows but also about Japanese work culture, particularly the values of harmony and respect. Their guidance was one of the true highlights of the camp. I sincerely hope to have the chance to work with them again in the future.
