Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 12) — Parts of Luzon are likely to experience power outages on Monday afternoon after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced the Luzon Grid will be placed under red alert for three hours.

A red alert status will be raised from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. due to insufficient power supply. This is done to meet the projected demand for energy.

Yellow alert was also raised from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

NGCP said seven power plants are on forced outage on Monday, while three others are running on derated capacities.
